Rocker cover retention and leak potential sorted. The studs barely show through the covers, something has been changed in the past. So I made some M8 blind tube nuts from brass and opened up the holes in the covers. Fibre washers, job done.

Fuel rails and EV 14 injectors with Cohline FKM hose and proper Oetiker clamps (I didnt fancy the supplied Gates Barricade "Made in Mexico" hose that wasnt round and cheap clamps)

The exhaust took a little bit of fettling to sit nicely, had to open up the exhaust saddle holes to 10.5mm and then the MRB pushrod guards needed adjustment for the middle exhaust header. Shouldn't have been necessary because it went out with them fitted
Anyway, final details are the crankcase/rocker breather/idle air hoses and then its just about ready to go in!

Disappointing but necessary, just my time and a little cash for the TIG welding. Basically I needed to "clock" the thermostat housing end of the pipe so that the hose would fit, it was about 5-6mm out at the cut which must be a good 15° and translated to a misalignment of 20mm and that also made the heater bypass elbow foul the engine bay splash guard.

I tracked down a quality late pin type distributor cap (Lucas) because I don't want to be lumbered with the early DIN termials and coil (which I have never had)
BW have offered to make a set of late leads up so I'll send them my DIN set for the lengths and then they are on file. When everyone gets back from their holidays. In the meantime I can fudge it with spare set of 5 pot leads that I found the other day.
I really want to get this engine installed and tested before autumn sets in,

Its all the little details at the end. The crankcase breather system is peculiar (but possibly now redundant because I fitted the windage plate) but still needs reinstating somehow and I don't like coming back to a job.
Oil cooler will have to wait, I'll just put an interwarmer on it for now as the approx 7 litre sump capacity will take a bit of warming up!
I have a HD late clutch so that's sorted, new Bosch fuel pump but no wiring harness for it.
So close!

Its a busy little corner. The interwarmer has to have a spacer around 17mm thick in order to clear the engine mount, this also carries a VDO sender to monitor pump discharge temperature. Oettinger parts were re-used including the over-length oil delivery pipe.
Because of the spacer, the pipe bends needed a bit of persuasion to make the hose elbows fit...which also needed a little trimming!
Finally, the long 12mm dia pipe (thermostat housing to interwarmer) that I got from MRB was too short, although that did suit my purposes after lengthening with the BW sender kit routing (it just fits!)
