i dont know if you cab see but i have shortened and welded up the ends of my rear bumper. learnt quickly that any thing that overhangs can get ripped off very easterly.my bumpers are about 30mm shorter than standard. and i made the mount to to be as close to the edge of the bumper, i originally drilled and taped the bottom pivot in the center of the bracket, but it once every thing was made it became obvouse that the pivot point needs to be as close the possible to the out side edge of the van, so i moved it over be 50mm to the out side of the bracket. now every cloud has a silver lining and all that. the origional hole and thead i will drill out and fit a pip pin as another security/safety measure
i still was not clearing the drop side (on the side) with the tyre on, so i hade to lenthen the lower arm by about 150mm. there is a lot of buggering about truing to get tube to fit inside tube but i found some that was close enough to do the job so all is good. with some careful measuring and depending on your wheel and tyre choices you could fit a matching pair on the back of any van.
the bracket is attached only to the tow bar in my case a westy tow bar which is the thing of beauty in so far as the way in which it has been made. although i am conferdent with my welding this is the first time i have welded to structualy so where possible i also taped the m10x1.5 threads to join the plates together and to the tow bar body. as well as welding it all together.
