Dont know what the problem was, but the mattress in the AC is dreamy compared to the one in the Westy & as the week went on I seemed to get less & less sleep & more & more pain (from ankles right upto my neck)

Will consider purchasing a mattress topper before the next outing, either that or huge amounts of booze!!

''harder'' but NOT rock hard like a block of concrete. :)

I read an article in the national press within the last 2 months on the subject of mattresses & it stated that medical opinion on very firm beds for people with a bad back is being re-evaluated.

Generally speaking a mattress needs to have some ''give'' or flexibility in it to allow for the natural curvature of the spine. Mind you, my spine is straight with no curvature (lordosis) so there's no hope for me. :)

With all this bad sleeping and stuff it makes me wonder sometimes why we bother !
After all, I guess the majority of people with a camper van have a home to live in that comes with a bedroom, proper bed, running water, heating, TV, fridge, cooker, sofa, bath, flushing toilet etc. etc.

Why do we all persist in trying to live in a tin box :rofl

I sleep better in the van (Westy) than I do at home. I also sleep better 'upstairs' than 'downstairs' in the van.

Maybe it's something to do with the amount of ale I consume whilst away camping?
