gave the seat runners and plates a respray with good old halfrauds satin to cover up all the orange paint that was on em and freshen them up a bit.

Hi all,
Been really busy at work lately so havent had much time on the bus. managed to build and fit this last night. going to be bringing the wiring from the battery boxes to the zig under the bus in flexible conduit and strap it to the chassis. i can then wire the fridge and everything from there so the wiring cannot be seen.

Image

hopefully going to get cracking again soon as i really want to use start using the old girl

i should imagine it is the relay box for the fridge. should be a battery feed, wires to the fridge and an ignition trigger from the alternator. it only activates when the engine is running so you dont run your battery down. i am going to replace mine with an intelligent one from ebay so you dont have to have a trigger wire.
of course it might not be that but i reckon it is. have a look on the relay and see if it says zig on it. you could try and trace them out but if it was anything like mine it will have a mass of crimps and wires behind the fridge

hope this helps

the thing is matey mine is not there atall, the cover is missing and the relay or whatever should be there isnt there.
hence me asking for info, if i could find out what should be there that would be great, and if i can find a replacement one then even better,

this will do it. just need to put crimps on the end of the cables to fit the pins.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/70-80-amp-Relay-1 ... 56447b1989" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

look at the diagram here under the documents heading. the relay is the RM12F. that is the code if you buy it from zig but it will be the same as the other one. the other one will be better as it can take a higher ampage so is not working so hard. just trace your cables and you will see what goes where on it.
https://club8090.co.uk/wiki/Ca ... _Zig_Units" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
hope that helps. if not, dont be afraid to ask again.

cool, get a multi meter and set it to dc volts. one wire will have 12v constant without the ignition on. one will have 12 to 15 v when you start the engine. one will be -ve ( set your meter to continuity and measure between the wire and the body/ -ve battery termainal to find this ) the other by process of illimination will go to the +ve of your fridge. the relay you are going to use and post a pic of the pic that is on it and i will tell you what wire goes where. you could get one from halfords if you wanted to.

look at this pic
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Relay-12V-70-Amp- ... 3411664420" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
enlarge the picture
12v constant/ terminal 30
12v from ignition/ terminal 86 or 85, doesnt matter
-ve/ termainal 85 or 86 doesnt matter
12v to fridge/ terminal 87

make sure you buy a relay with that picture on it or buy this one and you cant go wrong :D

fitted the rest of the panels today. got cuts on my fingers from having to open up the holes in the door cards thanks to jk, never mind, they are on now. well pleased with them, the upholsterer did a fantastic job and i cant recommend him enough. also fitted the rest of the speakers as well.

now, you are going to think i am a nutter for the colour of the floor we picked but it was a bargain and we are going to see how it goes. tried to fit it myself but made a right boob of it so gonna get my mate to do it as he is a carpet fitter :oops: . lucky i have got enough to do it three times over :D.
just rigged the speakers up temp to see how they sounded. the pic aint that good but it is white vinyl with what i can describe as lego lumps if you know what i mean :?

got all the cable, fuses, relays and wot not today so going to get on with that on the weekend. ordered the lighting today. had a good idea as to what to do but aint going to let on till i have done it just incase it looks rubbish. hopefully not though.

any comments welcome

Jamie, great van, my van has the carpet removed from the glass fibre and metal, did you just use pincord and glue it straight to the surface?

hi mate

yeah, just got busy with the glue. got the carpet from carpet right. it is not stretchy at all so you have to work out your cuts but you soon get a dab hand at it. you wouldnt think so being striped but the carpet is massively forgiving so when you cant do it in one piece you can put a piece in and it doesnt really notice. i would advise to drill all fixing holes first in the metal as you will pull strands out as it wraps round the drill bit. ( i found this out the hard way :oops: ) it just takes time.

Great, one more thing, what is the material used on the units to the right of the shiny cupboard doors?
