I would just give it a try and see. Find an area/town you like and then visit all the temp agencies. You may find that you can get a temporary job which would give you experience in the English job market but could also lead to a permanent job if that's what you want. I know your work is a bit specialised but depends on what you want. Wish you all the best!

The thing that get me the most anxious, is the weather, is my van going to be rotten knowing he's almost 20 year old ? ?

As far as jobs go, the agency suggestion is a good one. Also, and I hope this doesn't annoy anyone from outside London, yes, the economy is pretty messed up but there are always more job opportunities in and around London, especially in IT, of course it depends on what you do in IT. There's also a strong cluster of IT companies up Cambridge way.

London is also very expensive to live in.

Good luck with it. As someone else said, don't expect too much, enjoy the adventure and see where you end up!

Despite what I have said previously about the employment situation (which is true and probably better that you know before you leave) the UK for the most part is a very safe place to travel. I'm sure you will meet a lot of interesting people on your travels, and there are a lot of great people in this club who I'm sure will be only too willing to help you along the way. Please don't let the employment thing put you off. You may be lucky, if not then look at it as just a good chance for a holiday.

The British countryside is beautiful, with many great places to stay. The inner cities are probably best avoided with regards to places to sleep for the night in the van, but are probably your best chance to find work.

So i'm in gillingham, kent, since three days now...no one told me english people drive like in "fast and furious", i was damn scare on my first trip from dover to gillingham, thanks the spririts it wasn't far.

join the camping and caravaning club, its safer to stay on thier camp sites and they are all over england, and the showers are brilliant for a very low cost about 39.00 pounds a year. some are even open all year round. enjoy your trip most type 25/type two owners will wave at you on the roads. its real fun to do take care xx

39 pounds, just to have access to a map of camping site it's kind of a joke for me,plus knowing that i have to give more money at the camper site owner
or i'm wrong ?

Not quite - the sites are "member only" - so you're paying for access to them, more than "just" the map.

so if i have well understood, this 39£ give me access to some camping , but still i have to pay again to stay on the camping, no ?
i'm lost.

basicly these sites are closed to anyone who is not a member.
they are cheaper and quite often small and personally owned properties.

if you are going to do a lot of on site camping in the uk then paying the membership fee so you can use them is worthwhile.

Well....here i am in big trouble the room i've found in gillingham,(kent) is "pooh" so i have to leave sunday...

Does any of you have a room to rent near brighton or in surrey or near london ?

the max price i can put is 350£.

i have enough saving to pay the rent for 4 month.

I have recently been working in Hove next to Brighton and have found a place you can stay for free right by the sea. I have had so many nice nights sleep staying in this place and if you would like to know where it is I will be happy to tell you.

How does this look?
