For once I haven't looked up your gallery Miles. I shall get round to it and I know I will enjoy it.

Thanx again, team.
Jed, do you know that feeling when you're so jealous you almost want to cry?!

For 2 years before we went I frequently daydreamed that there'd be at least one campsite between pine forest and dunes where on a calm evening I'd drive our T4 (the worst vehicle off road I've ever driven - but perhaps it would cope with firm sand?), up to the top of a dune, open the doors wide and play Jimi Hendrix' 'Hey, Baby' on repeat 'til the sun went down.

Yes; been down that way twice now. Both times we took three/four days to drive to Rijeka and took the overnight ferry down the coast (Jadrolinija lines). You can hop off at Split, Hvar, Korcula or Dubrovnik the following day.
Option is to catch the same ferry back up, drive up through the mainland (quite fast since the motorway was opened); or get a ferry over to Italy.

What did you do about vehicle insurance through Bosnia Herzogovina?

Avoided Bosnia, apart from driving through the short coastal strip on our way back up from Dubrovnik. That amounted to a wave through the borders so had no 'papers' issues. We had no intention of 'visiting' Bosnia anyway and heard only bad things about it ; how 'wild west' it was; as you do!
This is on the Foreign and commonwealth website :
If you are driving to, or through, Bosnia and Herzegovina, including the 9.5 km road section at Neum on the Dalmatian Coastal Highway, you should ensure that your Green Card includes cover for Bosnia and Herzegovina. If this is not the case, temporary third-party insurance can be purchased at the main border posts, or in Split and other large Croatian cities. Insurance cannot be obtained at the Neum border. You should also ensure that you have all original registration and ownership papers relating to your vehicle with you as border guards, customs or the insurance company may want to see them.
Cant remember if i did or had any such insurance

My insurers, Safeguard weren't doing it last time I asked. Other folks have told me they just drove the short distance "very carefully".
