http://www.4x4cb.com/public/item.cfm?itemID=1720 has some good right ups on the web.
Some great posts on this thread, can't believe it can get so technical, i thought it would be much more plug and play
Check with your missus Lloydy before you buy as it has an oversize knob and size, according to Dave, isnt everything

We have the tti-880, plenty of twiddly bits.
On a more serious note, we have the same set up in both vans. We transmitted a need for assistance last year and although we couldn't hear the response our transmission was received, through valleys etc. Basically it worked when it really needed to.
The emergency was resolved before assistance arrived, but the knowledge of back up was a relief.

Stepping back to me teens, the Uniden/Audioline made CB's were the better end of the market, that included Cobra and president brands also.
I see communications eleven have units from both Cobra and President.
I'll be looking for one soon and I know it's expensive but I'll probably go with the President Harry.
They were always good solid reliable, nice sounding rigs, not sure if that stands true now a days.
Funny as Midland units back in the day were always sneered at, Danita used to be shortened to DNT, which eveyone said Do Not Touch, and for good reason.
Intek are fairly new to it I think, or they have spread out from amateur radio gear, I remember the name from shops etc (when you had to go to shops, no internet back then!) but don't remember them doing CB stuff.
