it's ok i wasn't fishing it just shows how nice you can make these hightops, it's gotta be worth that money. I ended up putting mine on pistonheads, got a phonecall 1 hour later and he bought it for what i thought it was worth. Maybe try pistonheads yourself

I used to live in Belgium and brought a couple of cars back to the UK. You can buy trade plates (from memory about £30) which gives you 3rd party insurance and then register in UK. Some UK companies will give you full insurance against the chassis number if you want extra cover. Pretty sure Mike would be able to help get the trade plates - he must do it quite often.

Literally just got off the phone with him. Its still german registered, so legally it's gonna be a car trailer or uk export plates, which you need to be a trader to get. So i guess it'll be a trailer and car hire, unless you can tow a syncro with a scenic, will have to check towing weights, saying that my dads got a ford galaxy, that might be a better tower

Anyone can get export plates, you don't need to be a trader.
You do however need to be a legitimate business to get Trade plates" for UK use.
have a word with McGill, he loves driving around towing trailers he does, weirdo.

Spitfire merlin engine does it for me, if you ever been at an air show when one does a full throttle low pass youl know what I mean, makes my hair stand on end. Dont know if the gearbox in a syncro could cope with a merlin engine though

I couldn't agree more, i reckon they are one of the most beautiful sounding aero engines ever made. However, i do like the sound of a diesel in a van myself...

sorry no I don't think stronger gears and oiling plates would be enough to cope with a merlin engine and your departure angle might be a bit compromised too, but given that the syncro would be airborn most of the time that probably wouldn't matter, but as with all flying the landing is the really dangerous bit, you'd need a suspension upgrade and some good brakes too

Aidan do you think a syncros aerodynamic enough to fly? I see what you mean about upgrading the suspension, do you thick some bigger bump stops would do it

Right, due to some good news my search is now narrowing to a caravelle/van. Pref diesel. Would prefer van to be in England, so if you see any thing let me know
