When I had a look at it today it was nice and red and the previous owner still had a small bottle of it in the cupboard, along with break fluid, fan belts etc. Can't find the break fluid reservoir either

its under the dash pod.

Sounds like that auto fluid is probably Ok... but a couple of things to reinforce:

gwolf makes a good point. I know R0B and other auto owners have said here before that fresh transmission-fluid and clean screens/filters are the best insurance for auto boxes - and these T25 ones will outlast most manual boxes if you follow that regimen (which you can't say for all auto boxes of this or even later vintage I won't mention some Renault ones for example, Oops! )

A good rule with a new vehicle is that if there isn't hard evidence that something has been serviced/changed, then until YOU have done it, you don't know it HAS been done...

Can someone modify it though as the W7CC plug should have a .7mm gap as opposed to the .6mm on the W8CC's
