Go and have a really good look at it, but don't buy it blind. It may well be good, but I would be checking it over properly before making any rash decisions. 4.5k if it really is good does not sound that dear to me. Especially if the mileage is genuine. Dokas are really practicle, as long as you don't want to sleep in them that is! Had three so far and they rule :ok

it's worth £3k tops only scarcity/bidding war makes it any more than that
no history to prove the mileage on the engine or on the vehicle, it's a 5 digit dash so add 100k miles look at the fixtures and fittings to get an idea of the true mileage
didn't even fit new £4 washer jets after pulling them out and breaking them to do the blow over and then asked £8.5k or fit new wiper blades or service it properly
having a laugh

I saw it at busstopover where it was up for £8.5K and the paint was so fresh you could smell it from 10 yards on a strong breeze, there was other posts about it back then

For 8.5K you would expect a really tidy 16" DoKa or van or perhaps a fair nick fully kitted out 14" camper. Even 4.5K seems too much as Aidan states. If you can go to that sort of money I would hold out for a later year 14" a bit more 'honest' than that one.

As Aidan says, if it's been badly prepped and rushed, then don't even consider it.There will be a multitude of sins hidden there for sure! It's very difficult to tell from the pictures!

if you can find a van with factory paint the chances are that any thing wrong with it, (body wise) will be easy to spot, have you decided exacty what you want? tristar or just a doka?

recently i found 2 tristars in a gararge/workshop one rhd not for sale and a lhd, the lhd is for sale as whole or for breaking, it could be saved but it is at and touch and go weather it is worth saving (tin worm is begining to take hold). but the lhd will fund the rhd one which as we all know is a rare bird. i am waiting for the owner to get back in touch as i have made him an offer on variouse parts, he has just got to work out exactly what he wants to do,

although it will be sad to cut it up but it is probobly worth more in bits than as a whole van, i am more a fan of saving old vw's ie remove what you can of the interia and it just becomes anouther lhd doka, and most of what i can see of the interia is glued to the body so a pound to an peice of poo when you try to remove it is gonna rip.

are you prepared/capable to do work on the van? if so then i could put you in toch with the owner.

I dont have a problem doing my own work, im mechanicaly minded, and can weld. Only thing im not good at is electrics, but I can just about get by with a wiring diagram. Ive decided that it will have to be a RHD Tristar, as i need that extra door, and the interia is lush. So im in for a long wait.

so you have narrowed you syncro's form over 40,000, to 2100 rhd vans, to well 11 being a rhd tri star? you know that will will be paying for the privlage?
you do know that the 4th door is not a tristar only thing? normal dokas could have this fitted as an option from new. and some of the tristar fittings will limit the off road performane, compaired to a basic doka or van. i would think long and hard about it. patric (from sweden) put a very nice looking doka up in the for sale section this morning.

Yea I want the tristar velour interia, and 16" spec but thats not that important. What fittings will limit its off road capabilities? Seen what patric has put for sale, but prices are more inthaustic then say the tristar connection who allso inports them. Also im settled on RHD so that my kid dosnt have to get out into the road, pathatic I know but still inportant to me.

the tri star was not made in 16inch spec, russle (syncronutz) has made a 16inch doka with a tristar interia though. i see the glass fiber front bumper and the wheel arch trim as the 2 limiting factors for offroad use, neather of them are cheap to replace if they get damaged,i am constanty hitting the front bumper, dented and scrached to prove it,
6wbx (dave) removed his a s/p through fear of doing more damage to it after he left it on while he was playing in germany.
