well you should have, but thats not been knicked, its been changed by someone , its not an issue at this stage, it ran like it before... unless there is a open hole and screwhole in the dissy side, where it has been filched?

hope you manage to sort -
keep checking in and letting us know how your doing -
if you press the wiki icon on top of this page you go to the information pages - there are many excellent articles there (including reluctant starting information) - that you may find useful -

can i repeat / ask harry manns question - did the tea leafs force the tail gate? or was it open? to get the parts? - would be good to know - do you think another van owner may have done this? - or kidders sodding about? i ask because - alarmingly - a forum poster 'the cat' - has had his instrument panel stolen recently - whats going on -

unbelievably outrageous and unacceptable behaviour if people are nicking specific parts out of vans - could this be happening on a wide scale?

if so - is there any way we could monitor the scale of this - and take action as a forum? - not to deal with... to look out for... to pass on information when..? -
Owner of a red T25 fixed hi top campervan - colour - spikey red - petrol - water cooled - 1.9 dg engine rhd - 1990 g reg n still going strong!-

Hmm to be honest I have no idea. It was my father in laws van and was parked outside his house. As far as I am aware the van was completely locked as he didnt use it that often as it wasnt his daily driver. There was no signs of a forced entry. No idea how they got in. But they didnt rush to rob the parts off the van. The clocks surround and the fixing screws were neatly placed on the passenger seat. There was a lot of other stuff they could have taken in the van but they didnt.

Sods law is the next door neighbour saw the sliding door open and a pair of legs visible but they thought it was the owner!!! It was the theiving scumbag taking the parts off the engine from inside!!!

Yeah the sods stole the dash clocks, dissy cap, rotor arm and ignition control unit. Makes me sick.

Right have had another looksy today and Im getting a spark. Had to charge the battery as it has drained where I have been attempting to start it. Upon recharge I managed to get the van to start but it took a good few attempts and the starter occasionally struggled again. Figured out that getting the van to start isnt difficult its getting the starter to turn over without struggling and putting a strain on the battery. Is this sounding more of a starter motor issue or is it still a sign of timing etc????

Once started though Im getting a strong smell of fuel from exhaust. Hmm have I flooded it maybe or is it a sign of the timing etc??

Oh also found out that the thief used a key!!! Where from? no idea.
