hello

Well its been a while but I've finally got around to adding more photos, including a before & after section.

Most of the van has now been refitted. It went back together pretty well, some parts were a bit tight due to the trim.
The fridge goes in for a service in January, if I never have to take that bloody thing out again Ill be very happy.
I'm still undecided about sound deadening the engine hatch.
I'm planning on rebuilding the rear bed base, then Ill see how the noise is. At the moment the base opens up, I'm hoping to find two drawers (of approx size) and have them slide out when the tailgate is open. This way I can keep all my tools etc in one place.
Will post some photos when I'm done :run

Steve at Gasure is fitting a propex in the new year, and 'The Pea' has just passed its MOT so I look forward to some new year camping 8)

Irish Keet... where did you get the sound deadening sheets from and how did you stick the therma wrap in place? Get my van back from body shop soon having replaced nearly all my body panels and full respray - now it's time to do the inside! Al

hi
check back in the post info on where i bought all the bits is listed

as for the thermawrap i used foil (insulation) tape
some part also required double-sided tape, it also wedges in quite securely

all the best

Hi Mortcars

its funny you should ask, I only turned around to my other half on the weekend asking her the same Q
I was wondering if I was 'wishing' it was warmer

Anyway I do think it is when the van is running the heat seems to stay in the van much better, will really know when I get the new propex fitted in jan and get camping but yes I think it has made a difference and the effort was woth it

as for sound its a lot better too, the cd player sound is now much better

good luck with your van
:D

Just refitted the sliding door panel, photos below

The old panel clips kept popping out after years of the door opening & closing, the panel is now attached with bolts and capped nuts.
[img:700:464]http://www.irishkeet.phanfare.com/show/ ... 2/file.jpg[/img]

I put a bolt through the clip hole, attached it with a nut behind the panel, then put the panel in place and fixed it with a load washer and a capped nut.
I've also drilled out a hole for the screw to tighten the sliding door handle.

Thats it until after the holiday :rollin

Hi

A quick update on my resto.
Firstly Phanfare has changed and you cant show photos on the web anymore - gutted it was a great hosting site, anyway I'm now using smugmug so the new link to the resto photos is

I finally got some time last weekend to work on the van (its been to long)!
I have dismantled the back bed base that came with the van. Reason being is that the top opended and it was a pain to use this way. I have rebuilt it with two drawers that I will use to hold all my tools and other bits and bobs for going away. I now have quick and easy access, i just need to line the drawers with foam, will post photoas soon for anyone who is interested.

cheers

Hi Irishkeet

Excellent photo's on the site, they really are going to help me with val!

I have 2 questions for you if you would be so kind:-
1) what are you using as sound deadening?
2) How are you fixing the sound deadening material and the thermawrap to the van?

Thanks for your help
