If it wasn't for the Golf, there would be no T3 as VW was on its a*** and that little water cooled car saved them.

Your right about the Golf, defo a life saver.........for VW....

As for Beetle figures, you can't compare world wide production figures to real sales figures, in europe, Ford were the new 'Big Boys', Escorts, Cortina's, Grandada's were killing the UK VW sales........Im old enough to remember VW cutting prices in 72 and introducing all manor of 'tarted up' beetle models to try pick up UK sales......Jeans Beetle, GT Beetle, Sun Bug......the list goes on......
We are right off the subject.........anyhow, Aircooled VW engines are like Marmite on toast, you either love it or hate it....... :lol:
I make a living building Aircooled Engines, so I love em.......but even I am gratious enough to admit they are now a required/classic taste......
