The recess created in the back of the facia means the back of the dial is pretty protected from the dash, so no i haven't taped it as yet. It looked fine so I've left it be.

hmm just fixed a few of the pictures linke din this thread... not allowed pics more than 1024 pixels high... no mention of how many wide is allowed? anyway, net effect being any images that were portrait instead of landscape wouldnt show in the browser, but would vew fine through tapatalk. anyone else noted that?

What you could do is establish the value of the pot and replace it with a new one with longer shaft that you can cut down. That way you can put it straight though facia and a flat plate behind dash with a hole through it. Once its all fitted, cut shaft to correct length. I mention this cus your pot is different to mine and it'll avoid any potential for connections to foul or short on dash. Just an idea.

I mod all the time (have the head for it I think) plus I hate paying the earth for a part when something far better (and cheaper) will do the job. As long as it doesn't depart too much from the original look but adds something useful, thats fine with me.
