So gearbox is back on, well just the gearbox. It went fine. Lined up lovely. Input shaft lined well with friction plate splines and bottom 2 studs went through bellhousing. But I couldn't get the input shaft to enter the spigot bearing. After lots of huffing and puffing it went another 5mm and from above I could close the gap. I think it was the ratchet straps that kept pulling it out due to the position of the wooden brace. So I put nuts in the studs and it all came together nicely. I don't like doing it this way and I'm really hoping all is well inside . My plan is to fit the slave next and see if clutch operates.
Any thoughts?

Always needs a good shove to get them together, don't sweat it will be fine :ok

Fingers crossed. I thought it had got the better of me. 2 hours trying to align it has left me aching. I'm a maths teacher in my day job!
