Wow Rob, thats a bit harsh. I guess some things we are more confident with and others we're not. Im very happy right now that my van is working as it certainly was awful before I took it there. I'm happy for the advice given to me on this forum, but if I'm more uncomfortable doing things that others might be more comfortable doing, then its a learning curve and I'm not going to beat myself up about it and be told to grow a pair!

Sorry for being harsh. But I cannot for the life of me understand why you won't ask for your property back.If it had say for instance been your spare wheel or your fridge would you let them keep them.Don't let them get away with it.Again apologies for being harsh with you.

Like the man said ^^

If someone in the street charged you £90 to take £100 (minimum) from you you would fight back ... a gentle, non-confrontational phone call as has been suggested can't hurt. Personally I would be looking for a better garage asap ... preferably where the mechanics are older than your vehicle.

Kind regards, Ian.

Emma - well done!!

they are obviously more decent than we first thought! good relationships with two garages is better than one :-)

Pop in and grab it super quick - And- you can tell them how pleased you are withe the way its running - and ask what it ws they did :-)

And next time you go in....remember to ask them to put the knackered parts in the bus for you.....I like to see what was causing the problem.

The chaps are right though....I don't like confrontation either...but if you present as a clueless female that doesn't question or challenge....then I'm afraid you will get taken for a ride :-(

Enjoy your van xx

Glad you got it back. However, I do feel there was an unnecessary pressure from some on here that were not very constructive in light of the fact the person asking for help was a female. If I found out somebody told my wife or sister to 'grow a pair' while asking advice on a forum I wouldn't be very happy.

Feminism was all about being treated equally, there is no need to be overprotective towards the females of our species. They aren't all simpering little pieces of fluff adorning a drawing room.
