Okay. My circuit diagram says blue/white wire for the glow plug sensor, red/yellow wire for the water temp sensor.

I would go with your wiring diagram then. Mine is a print out & its hard to see whether its bl/w or br/w :?

Okay. I've tracked the glow plug sensor - it was at No.3 on the diagram. I pulled off the wire and the glow plugs stay on but still no life. So back to the fuel system - I've just changed the fuel filter and primed it with some diesel. Battery's back on charge, and in the morning I'll connect it up again, crack off the injector pipes again, and turn it over a couple of times to bleed the air out again, and then we'll see if it starts.
If everything's good then we'll be at Mendipidy Friday evening. If not then…

Looks like the fuel filter was kaput. I bled the injector system again this morning, then snugged it all up again and turned it over. It took at least half-a-dozen tries before we started to see fuel coming out from the exhaust, then it started catching and then it suddenly ran and held.

Thanks for all the suggestions folks, and apologies to our neighbours. Looks like we're still on for Mendipidy
