I've been looking for material for re-covering the original cushions in my 82 Holdsworth Villa.
A hard wearing, robust option is to buy a pair of black-out curtains and re-work them into covers. Black-out fabric is thick and usually machine-lined.
If you look in discount stores like QD, you can buy a pair for about £25.
Got to be worth a try.
