Re: hello all , new t25 owner :-D

Post by mid england retrims »

Sundays are a day of rest , so with that in mind it was an early start and cracked on with the t25. Welded in the front arch , step area , quality of replacement panels is shocking , they need so much work to fit properly. Welds still to be ground back. Primer coated to rust protect until next session.

New seat belt mount for drivers side to be made.
More to follow.

Be careful of yer windows when grinding back. The sparks will wreck them. .. I learned the hard way.

Nice work! You're certainly not workshy eh ;)
mid england retrims wrote:Bit of an update , finished the grinding and puddle welding of the silly holes in tne step Image Image
Cleaned surface rust off the arch and checked seat belt mount , ok and solid. Image

Started the driverside , removed step arch sill and rear arch lower, Image Image Image

Welded in rear arch lower section, tacked sill into place whilst i fettle its fit. Image Image Image

Coat of primer , will be sanded back to show high spots in the weld where i need to smooth and shape , Image
Inside of arch edge still needs to be shaped as its a poor repro panel.

Stitched up a new leather sand bag so i can form the metal for these on both sides Image

Ive more pics on my camera to move over. More to come.
Thanks for looking , ade

None of my business but hope no saw is taken to the van for windows. Slippy8v has a top class panel which looks the business. Might be an inspiration for you. Greetings from Ireland.

Hi, no, the only window is going in the sliding door. Managed to convince wife that it will rot away if windows are fitted. :ok

Sliding doors with windows already in are easy enough to find.
That will save you have to cut a perfectly good solid sliding door.

Ok. I don't see the logic in this , I have a good solid sliding panel van door , I could end up buying an expensive possibly rotten sliding door with a window in. Then struggle to sell my good door to fund the repair of the new door.
Solid sliding doors on eBay all the time.
