If it is bits from 35-05 you're after then they may all be dealer parts, not sure if you can use later exhausts on early vans

anybody? though can see why not, unless there was a major change in hte engine design/position?

IIRC, I looked at JK, the part they show is a "syncro" picture, but the part they have is a 2wd... worth checking though....

If i'd not sorted so many things out so far i'd probably be writing a forsale ad.

Find me a buyer for mine and you might have a deal!!

Anyway, an update.....

I've re-fitted the exhaust with the aid of a big pry-bar. Upon re-fitting it became obvious the threads in the cylinder head are knackered, this is on that lovely re-con engine....

The bolts wont tighten up to clamp the exhaust fully, is this a known problem with the cylinder heads?

The engine needs a new crankshaft oil seal as well so its going to go back to the engine people ASAP.

If the threads in the head are stripped they can be helicoiled-which is easy but you may have to drop engine to do it--bolts shouldnt really be used--should be studs & nuts--

This is how i bought it. The engine people will have fitted the bolts. Anybody fancy a cracking Syncro Westy (fixed) for a non Syncro, preferably with a diesel lump?

I had the same trouble with stripped thread on the head exhaust bolts. Same recon merchant I think. Had to change to vw recon eventually to many probs with that engine!
