I'd go in the shopping car Patrick, at least you'll know it will all still be there at the end of the day (one reason why I don't go to Sandown Park)
I can't stand the noise and the crowds now, too much like Oxford Street on Christmas Eve for my liking. It's ok for a day, I might think differently if I was trading there i.e. bored stupid for most of the time and needing a pee, like any other trade show...
And still no word from the official rep

Never really considered this side of things...I'm generally just happy o be able o park in the middle of the show ground and have my van where I can use it as a base for the day...however it is a very valid point and was recently given free admission to tatton vw show as a VIP if I showed the pick up...so did Andymcsyncro too...which was great as I normally pay to go there. Also this was a vehicle pass and was for all passengers on board...could of took a couple of dozen in with me but just ok my loyal sidekick Ron this time!
A free pass or even a reduction as a exhibitor would be a wise move by the organisers, no show without syncros!
No concessions for exhibitors once again. Why would anyone want to drive however many miles and burn £££ of fuel to show their wagon, when the only people gaining benefit are Busfest? They are the ones who need exhibitors to draw the crowds and avoid criticism of putting on a dull, unimaginative show. The static hall displays were p1$$ poor in 2011 and that was under the Vanfest banner.
If they want an impressive syncro display (and we could give them just that, along with a spirited driving display for the audience) the all-new VF really needs to give a bit of ground.
Free entry for the driver & vehicle (for example) isn't going to scratch the Busfest profits, but at least it would go some way towards showing a bit of appreciation.
As much as I'd like to drag Atlantis up there and rag it over the "syncro trail", I've made other travel arrangements.
PS I'm sure that this has all been said before about the Busfest machine, but nothing's changed, has it?
Exactly why I go to the padock and get pissed with all the other loons....lol
and still no comment from symcro... Ok so maybe he's really busy in the run up, but a line or two wouldn't hurt.
I think that it would be good to open a fresh dialogue, but then again, does the syncronaut collective really need to promote itself at such a blantantly commercial (no pun intended) show like BF?

I think a week before the event, after everyone has bought tickets is not the right time to bring this up. If I was symcro I wouldn't be commenting.
Do the show and shine people get free entry? It's certainly a topic worth talking about, as free entry for people in displays ect sounds fair. It can be a bit of a bind displaying your vehicle, but have to say I quite enjoyed it the other year. Met a lot of people.
The syncro display is organised by MGhia isn't it? So not much to do with syncronauts as such. Maybe he could get X amount of tickets for next year for people displaying?
Quite right Lloyd, but it's topical! The syncro display is NOTHING to do with syncronauts, but as the (arguably) single largest UK syncro collective, maybe we should have an official presence?
MG is in the employ of BF, but has no influence. I asked him about exhibitor concessions, but he said that there's no freebies to be had under the present admission structure.
It's all down to Busfest. "with great power comes great responsibility" so if BF want to be the biggest and best, maybe they should start acting like it?

Saturday, given the choice. Sunday is a bit subdued IME. The syncro trail is in the top paddock unless it's all change again (behind the admin block) Spectators just walk up and lean on the fence. Don't know a thing about the other "new" course.

Which day is the Syncro trail open for spectators? At what time?
Don't know... Both I hope... The off road bit is in the woods.. I need a co driver as it happens to hold my cup of water!
Last year it was all top secret.. I German man approached me and asked if I wanted to go into the woods with him.. I of course said oooh yes please as I'm easily lead.. After a little confusion a load of syncros started up and off we went...this year it's a spectator event so assume it will be less like joining the masons and a bit more public!
Reason I need a co pilot is the wife and 8 month old little bloke will be watching from a safe distance..
