I want to use the new SA bellhousing to replace the homebrew one.
I m not fussed which bits i use for the rest of it i just want it back on the roads as quickly and cheaply as possible. I didnt realise that the two bellhousings were not going to be a straight swap. the engine conversion was done about 12 years anfd 3 owners ago
Im going to the garage tomorrow to have a look at whats in the van now and to check if the bellhousings are the same length , i have been told that a gearbox spacer from a 6 speed Audi s2 may work , but after a quick look they dont seem to grow on trees
thanks for your help so far

Ok, well knowing that the mystery parts use a wbx clutch, which isn't really man enough: to use the proper 5-cylinder bellhousing you need the matching flywheel, clutch slave bracket and a 2.3 starter, there is no other way.
All are SA home-market parts.
You old homebrew conversion set will only work all together.
Its a pisser but thats the thing with SA's....

PS I just realized that if the clutch in the h-brew kit is a 228mm, then its just the SA part number for a std wbx clutch.
