Out of interest, at what point did the fuel filter get changed. I had this problem on an mv before and having swapped and checked a lot of things it turned out to be a fuel pump/filter problem. Pump getting very hot and dropping fuel pressure after engine warmed up. Sounds very familiar.

Hi Pete
It wasnt the fuel pump that was the issue, just found it had blown around the electrical connectors while checking everything out trying to solve the the problem.
Have been running it for the last month with no problems, changed it yesterday so it doesn't give me a problem at an inopportune moment
Jed had mentioned it previously as a possible solution.
