your call at the time, me I always think what if drive was lost? youve no choice, like when a gearstick came out the floor in neutral at a busy set of light on an incline, = their (other drivers) immediate problem not mine

Reading through this post is it possible then that for the temp gauge need to almost always sit just beyond the red led in thd middle of the gauge is ok? Just recently changed water pump and out new Brickies thermostat in- this had the effect of allowing the engine to reach temp more quickly and the Hester works properly. Now I'm expecting the fan to kick in but I'd does not yet.

It is rare for the fan to come on this time of the year...having said this: with zero air flow through the radiator (vehicle stood still) and the engine being held at 1500/2000rpm, the fan will operate on most vehicles after five or so minutes (engine already upto temp). Thats how we tested them during service.
