I'm kind of pleased that I didn't attend with an unproven engine, but also disappointed to miss out on the fun
Ah well, next time. Good to be there and wave the starting flag and see you all though

All smiles, just after I had burnt my clutch out, perhaps more of a snigger

Re: surrey lanes on the 16th dec
Was a good day out, definitely interested in doing some more lanes around that way. (next time with some engine protection, was bugging me all day not having any...)
Last time i was out walking around near the Devils punch bowl (Hindhead) i found a great looking lane. Lots or articulation needed and some tricky steps to get up etc but i reckon its doable in a syncro. Would be interesting to see if its possible to make it over from Leatherhead way as far as Hindhead using mostly lanes.
This where Waggoners Wells is, beautiful place! http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=Waggone ... m&t=m&z=15

I was told by a Shogun owner "Your VW wouldn't be able to drive the steps". So I'd be up for it.

It does look a bit tricky, but with a bit of creative driving i reckon we can do it. Going down would be alright i think, its coming up it that would be a bit testing. Probably a bit of waffle usage, but you never know......

I've done one side but the the other side needs doing too. But it should be a lot quicker now I've had some practice. Famous last words!

Which sheet numbers? I've got one or two. If it wasn't for the DNS on Sunday, I'd have had the GoBook onboard all loaded up with OS goodness. I'll take a gander at the maps and see if I can spot it with the ol' hawkeyejes*b wrote:, I have also picked up the maps for west Kent / east Sussex
