I had a chat with Kombi Klassics in Wareham, and passed my insurers on to them. They reckoned a new panel. Got my vote!

Cheers Jim, yes there's an interior panel I believe. Hopefully unaffected?!?! The hob and sink etc are all there.

Interesting to see that the original sprayer didn't even bother taking the fuel filler surround out before painting ?

Why'd you say that? They did actually. It was sprayed separately.

Jolly good, personal taste I guess ... it's usually a sign of a quick blow-over job.

Had the assessor around this morning. He agreed it'd need a new panel. Hopefully the insurers don't pay silly buggers cf economic repair... They are holding the other party fully liable mind :D

lets hope more that the other party accepts liability :rofl as for the filler surround , its a personal taste as to bleck or body colour, you see a few vans with the fridge vents and all sorts colour matched as well.
hope its soon back and running for you, have you sourced a new side for it yet?

It'll all be insurance Micky, but I trust Kombi Klassics know their onions. He's perfectly drivable at the mo at least.
(and yes our vents ARE body coloured.. )

Nice colour, On a side note what wheels are you thinking of?

I'm refurbing the wheels myself. They're normal steels. I'm wirebrushing them and rust-eating hammerite back and front. Them hammerite white undercoat, with VW pastel white sprayed on top, plus a coat of lacquer. We've then got the chrome hub caps to go on top.
