Its fantastic on the pd's so should be good on the aaz's but i don't think it will fit a t25 without alot of messing about becuase of manifold and engine mount. I have not looked into how the vanes are controlled when fitted on non tdi engines but can't see how the boost could be controlled properly.

The throat section modulation can be controlled directly by the compressor pressure through the use of a pressure actuator, or by the engine management system using a vacuum actuator.

Seems possible they can be controlled durectly (although more crudely) by manifold boost itself, of course not requiring a wastegate.

I think i am going to go with a 1.6td and see what happens, if its not upto the job i might think about a vnt i think these are excellent but are over rated take the 130 tdi golfs excellent at low and medium revs and then goes flat at 4000rpm, the 150tdi does nothing untill 1800rpm and then pulls strong untill 5000rpm. My point they are not as varaiable as people think they are you still have the big or small turbo problems.

Lookng at how some of them are 'controlling' them turbos is crazy.

Simon where did you get gtd nozzles, vw only list complete injectors and did you manage to get bosch ones. I don't trust euro parts i think they would just sell the normal 1.6td nozzles in place of the gtd ones.

Pretty sure this is because they're direct injection, and not to do with the turbo. Why so many are tuning their IDI diesels, they don't have the rev-band limitations, and don't need 6 gears (though it'd be handy).

The 150's are the same basic engine as a 130 but with a different intercooler and bigger turbo and they thrive on revs, they are at their best between 3000-5000rpm.

GSF sell complete GTD injectors for just over £100 ish.
Nozzles, from a Bosch agent.
I will be buying some soon for the AAZ im building, I'll give you a nod when I get a price.
Do you have access to the shims needed to set the breaking pressure? and a pot tester?
Try your local Diesel injection place, they will probably supply and fit the nozzles for you, set the breaking pressure etc..

Theres not many around here and all they want to play with is modern DI's, i suppose its like most garages don't want to play with carbs and points. I have not tried getting the shims from vw becuase i have nothing to test them with.

I will have a phone around with them numbers this week.

Shims are available from VW but I think it's a trial and error job and a large selection is needed to do the job right.

Priced them today £0.79 each x4 cylinders x 20 sizes =£60 odd quid for a bag of washers.
