I hated doing the jacking point on my van and everything around it. Felt like never ending rust. I also dont like welding even though its a good skill to have. Just enjoying my van now. You will soon too

You’ve hit the same point I did. Nothing like a deadline to focus the mind. That’s why I haven’t posted in a while mines actually finished a few months ago, well she’s back together and passed test. I had to go away with work for a few months and moving country in a few weeks. Tip from the top, do what you need to get it back together and preserve anything else that needs doing but isn’t urgent. I had to just wire wheel and paint my floor with no repairs and I’ve still got the drivers floor to do, but it’s solid and safe and passed test for now.
Vehicle transportation booked for Saturday afternoon, so the other night I started throwing the rear suspension back together. Delighted that the swing arm slid in with barely a whisper, and everything else was a doddle. Wheels on, off the axle stands and ready to go to its new home. 2 burly sons primed to sit in it to squeeze it low enough to get in its next garage. Some rain forecast...

I am. Haven’t actually checked how the wheel is sitting, I’ll take a photo when I roll it out on Saturday. Fingers crossed.
And I might have to let the tyres down too, but I’m hoping the combined 40 stone will be enough, when strategically placed.
Progress will still be glacial for a while, new house to sort etc. But downsizing should mean my other half can reduce her hours once this years commitments are fulfilled, so I’ll have less of the domestic chores to do, more time for van stuff on the horizon.

Arriving at my son’s garage. I’d forgotten how much there was to do having only been looking at it from close up. Managed to squeeze it in, (after removing the garage door), and as a bonus managed to modify the door so it actually opens and closes with the van inside! Result!
