Yeah you aren't far wrong. Historically it has been said that the Syncro 'box is good for 120 bhp but no one has come out and given a max torque figure and I wouldn't think 250 ft/lbs would take very long in shredding the gearbox's innards -

Mine is using 2wd canister. Post pic of yours and I'll do the same.
