I was in Wolverhampton yesterday afternoon so decided to call in to rustoleum direct to grab a look at some of the colour charts they had as its quite difficult when you only have a computer screen to judge them by. I cant tell you what a top bunch of people they are. We couldnt decide on the exact colour we wanted so the director of the company said we could pick the one we liked and she would let us have a 1 litre tin of it as a tester for FREE!!!!!! We also spoke about giving the van a bit of a sparkle finish and she told us about a silver glitter topcoat they do and she gave us a rattle can of that free as well. So we walked out of there with over £20 worth of goodies for nout and a big smile on our faces.
Anyway, before diving in and making a pigs ear of things I was wondering what the ratio of white spirit to paint is that people are using, I'm sure I've read it somewhere but cant seem to find it again so apologies for the repeated question. Will of course upload some pics when I'm done.

Its in this thread and on the DVD. There is no specific ratio - its consistency versus ambient temperature.

Top coat applied, just hope that we get some weather to cure the paint now. As I've been applying the various coats I've noticed that some paint has gotten on to the window rubbers. I've checked the wiki for tips but to no avail. Has anyone good tips for successfully removing the paint other than replacing the rubbers or as google offered... paint the rubbers black?

thinners on a rag will wipe it off

Run a stanley knife backwards, (ie not cutting into the rubber) across it. This will stretch the surface and help the paint part company with said rubber.
