I personally think that for a vehicle with a 2" lift, these are a good idea.
Ahem... Sorry, could resist quoting you
Why not as it just confirms what I said. Yes a 2" lift you will get from a shock extender and spring lift kit ..... or the longer springs we have now which will bring you past the natural 'bump position'

If you had tried to set wheel alignment on a T3 Syncro you would totally see the point of them.
Which I had done on a pretty expensive piece of kit and my geometry is within spec and tyre wear is even across the tyre which is a pretty good indication that the settings I have are correct. The guys that did it for me didnt report any undue hardship in setting it up - using your figures by the way.
Not my data, data robbed from god knows where, Autodata probably.
All I know is that when a raised syncro comes in and we've to align the wheels we always struggle to get enough positive camber.
All the vans that have come in or we have fitted ball joint spacers have all had enough adjustment to get the alignment where I want it.
You have experience of what one garage told you on your standard van.
I'm going off my experiences at the workshop.
If you raise a syncro then they are a good idea, in my eyes.. as it makes my life easier, which is a good thing as I'm fundamentally lazy.

Well data you posted then .....
I'm not disagreeing with fitting these spacers and I'm sure that they make your life a lot easier for you when setting up the geometry but when push comes to shove the factory settings can be achieved with a standard lift kit. My van uses the Syncro Services lift kit and the guys who set it up for me tell it to me like it is. Ive known them for 40 years and they are not the type of guys to lash out thousands of quid on state of the art gear and do rubbish work.
