Just been doing some googling on ZDDP and there are alot of conflicting posts on forums about it but I'm going with Marco Mansi who builds top quality WBX including turbo charged units he reccomends it.

Recommends it on a fresh rebuild, or recommends it for general use after the running in period ?

Also might be worth getting some graphite paste as you can put this on valve stems, pistons etc as it helps with that initial first time start up when there’s no oil in the case. Mate who did my engine rebuilds lorry engines and swears by it.

Do you need to prime the oil pump too before first start? or does the very act of filling with oil prime it for you?

Fill the filter with oil crank until light goes out with ignition disabled.

I think I managed to understand that
No non stretch bolts have a different torque, the mention of tightening a bolt with 1/2 a turn indicates its stretch all non stretch just go to a set torque, in haynes 45Nm
there are two thrust washers under the dizzy drive gear otherwise the aluminium case would wear away.

did you double check con rods were the right way up?
What always confuses me is the order or conrods on crank is not as you would expect, I always have to think hard about it.
3,1,4,2 from flywheel, if you get that wrong they are then the wrong way up. when put in case.
also when fitting pistons to barrels I lay them out as they fit otherwise its easy to get confused which way up they are and where to put ring gaps.

Yes, I noted which way up they were when they came out, put them back like that then noticed that according
to Bentley they were upside down so I pulled them and put them back the right way up.

Someone must have been in this case before.
Cast lumps on the con-rods upwards is right by Bentley.
Thanks for the link Carrera, yes, I had seen it before but it's always good to spread the link for others.

The bore gauge kit is definitely overkill but it's a beautiful set. I only need one part out of it.
I've set it up for 94mm=0 using a micrometer, and can work from there to check my bores.
