Captain seats shampoo

Post by Jonnyb416 »

Well the seats are sat in the spare room and I've not a minute to start cleaning them plus I've not found a wet n dry vacuum yet.

When/if I sort the vacuum I will hopefully get some before/after pics or half a seat cleaned other half not cleaned.

Maybe get the misses do one and il do the other, then you can guess who's cleaned which one?

I'm bigging this up; I know!

I've just recently set up my own business as a carpet and upholstery cleaner. What you need is a spray extraction machine. For what it would cost it may be worth getting someone in to do it. I only charge £30 for cleaning caravan upholstery so a couple of car seats shouldn't cost much. Failing that you can hire a dirt devil machine from Morrisons superstores for £18. They're not brilliant but should be easily good enough to get decent results on seats.

Got a quote the other day £7.50 a seat. Thing is, whilst I'm in no rush as the van ain't ready I'm going to hold out for the cheapest option.

Just clean the darn thing. Buy a bottle of 1001 carpet cleaner in a supermarket (hard to miss, it's a yellow bottle) mix it with water, whisk it into a foam and apply the foam to the chair, then wipe over with a clean damp cloth. Then vacuum. Job done in less than an hour.

Jon.

You've been quoted £15 for cleaning the seats professionally and you're holding out for a cheaper option?

Are you sure you have the right van because you're gonna "pooh" in your pants when you figure out what the running and repair costs are.

Thanks for the vote of confidence there Mike, thats exactly what I am after and thanks for all the ideas.

I could run my van for a good while with what I've spent on just the shed/cover for my van. Trust me on that one.. :run

I've been asking around for a wet n dry vacuum but as I say no rush.

I will re-ignite when the results are in. Place your bets :ok

i had some seats like that .. when ive had to clean mine before ( although i never cleaned the t25 ones ).. ive used the foam upholstery stuff, and a wet and dry vax .. occasionally a jet wash on really bad stuff .

but 15 quid for 2 seats is really good
