ive just checked my lights and there are 3 lights at 20 watts each and the propex site says it draws 1.8 amps continous running so would that mean 3x20/12 = 5amps + 1.8 amps for the propex say 7 amps total then double it for the 3metre run ?

Are we really saying 70amp cable to carry a 7 amp load



Surely 44/0.30, 3.0mm2, 27.5A - cable OD 3.7mm would be fine at 4X the capacity.

I am pretty sure 10% is the standard for dc but obviously lower the better. 5% is probably a better target to aim for so 15 AWG is the one.

but if i have the higher amp wire i can always add things to it , by the way i managed to get an rm2122 to fit instead of my gas only fridge , is it worth wiring the 12v up or just use it on mains and gas ?

no harm in wiring it up Jeff.
You can use it as a cool box when driving on a long trip.
I use mine on the alternator, it keeps the frozen peas... frozen
