Haha! I am getting one of those tomorrow.

I have to be honest I don't yet know, will see the mechanic tomorrow. I am a complete novice so it may be the regulator brush pack as you say but sadly I have yet to discover what that is! I don't remember any squealing so it could be.

I may well need to find a VW camper mechanic specialist as my friend has a busy garage and may choose to replace a whole part rather than fix and mend. However I trust him and have never had to return vehicles in the past, so will let you all know more tomorrow.

To be honest I am terrified ! Hoping I haven't made a massive mistake and bitten off more that I can chew!

You don't have to bite anything... this info is so you can ask the mechanic stuff without seeming like you know nothing.

I'm sure you'll use this and future information however you please.

Thanks - the advice is really good and helping me a lot. I have no experience really of mechanics, if enthusiasm helps I have oodles of that :D

I am hoping eventually - say within the first year to be able to work problems out and manage the basic checks/little jobs that will keep Sybil running on a day to day so we get lots of pleasure out of our camper and then have enough knowledge to work out the region of any bigger problems if we have them :ok
