I have door pockets fitted on my van which stop the glove box opening unless the passenger door is open, so not only would I have to scoot accross to the passenger seat, I'd have to open the door too.

I installed the passenger door pocket wrong like that the first time. Then I moved it towards the rear of the door. To give the glove box the space to open

I just moved the door pocket the PO installed back by 2" so the glovebox opens. Used to be a bugger if i needed the phone charger and was travelling along the motorway.
I like the idea of the LED strip in the glovebox and as i'm missing most of the bulbs in my dash and switches might do those too.

Slightly off topic but how many folks have working lights behind their heater control knobs ?
I only ask because we had our van for years before I found out the heater controls are supposed to light up
Then I found exactly the same "issue" with BOTH our Sciroccos.

I have recently discovered this too, and currently my rear heater knob illuminates, but thats it, so will investigate the main heater knob illumination, and main heater panel illumination. From a thread I posted about it, it sounds easy enough to do, although quite tricky to pop on the control slider knobs back on, but its certainly doable.

Yes, I should have mentioned that I fixed ours with little if any bother

I've got lights in my instruments and the warning panel between them but not in anything else.
What wattage bulbs should they be?

Replaced all my dash lights and added some, with these in various sizes:-

I had to make bulb holders for the clocks and get wide beam Leds to cover the clock face. I does mean a bit of wiring jigger pokery but not so much that it cannot be put back to standard later.

I am also a smurf friend. All lights are blue LED at mo just changing all the bulbs in the combi, auto shifter, heater panel and glove box. Any bit of white light will be finally erased!

Yes.

Not sure if it's available from VW but Brickwerks sell the bulb holder too
http://www.brickwerks.co.uk/shop?page=s ... =t3+heater" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
My holder had gone and it wasn't just a case of replaceing the small bulb
The heater control knobs pull off, as does the blower switch knob and the fascia can then be pryed off gently with a screwdriver to access the bulb and holder

I'm with you on the red. Having tried blue, you soon get fed up with it.
