OK....final question to the expert panel before I fly tomorrow is regarding M codes...
I have found conflicting versions regarding the M code for Westfalia based T3s.
The first site below states it should be 253....

Whilst the Australian site provides the following.....

stating that it is code 255
The van I'm looking at has code 253 299 (kombi,multivan - syncro) located on the inside right door pillar
Which is correct?

Westys are kombi based not cracked based.
253 is correct. The full 6 digit type number would tell you what it is/ was.

Well I did......the Syncro is bought and now residiing in Norway.
