Glad I'm not the only gumby out there!

Don't worry you're not alone! Off to buy a new battery now!

I have a slight problem...
The leisure battery doesn't appear to charge either from driving or from being hooked up to 240v.
It will charge when plugged onto a trickle charger though.
Any suggestions?
I don't have a zig unit but some other kind of unit which is original and I believe all wiring to be original and all looks in good condition! It's a 1986 t25 watercooled if that helps! All the fuses are ok (none are blown)

Maddy

Early auto sleepers do not have hook up battery charging as standard
My '86 sleeper has a split charge relay in the engine bay to charge from the alternator.

find the alternator and see how many THICK red wires are attached. (I have two)
one goes to your main battery
the other goes to the leisure, underneath, down the nearside of the van

there are two thin wires there too
these are trigger wires
follow one or the other to a relay, it may well be in the engine bay like mine.

no luck in the engine bay?
then look under the drivers seat for the relay.

this relay may have stopped working
and therefore no charging
