excellent. thanks axeman.
so not a major refit....providing everything comes undone as it should.
the bearing housings do sound like a likely contender for the problem.
well worth a try at least.

er why not compare the bearing housing with the ones on your other 16" bus ? or even with the one on the other side
bet you've got broken spring too if it's worse than it was
diesel spacers are available from Classic, I have a pair in stock, though I can't just lay my hands on them as they are in a box that hasn't been unpacked and there are still quite a few of those

i actually got under the van for a proper look after playing in the woods again and off roading with a half ton of logs in the back....
now i at least know why the camber is worse on the lhs rear wheel.
the trailing arm has now fractured right through underneath just back from the outside bush!
i guess it could have been sagging for a while and just getting weaker.
whoops.
now what.
bernd jeager just told me he no longer has any 16" trailing arms. i have a 14" one here somewhere (maybe two)
has anyone lengthened a standard trailing arm? this might be the route i have to take unless unone has any original 16" ones for sale?
russel?

looks like the van is off the road for a while :|
now i will HAVE to get on and put the camper back together.

http://burleysmotorsports.com/index.php ... 6f4u1oaik5" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; sell them. $900 for a pair, which isn't too bad, shipping might be painful but you might get a few of us wanting bits off him as well. Plus you could sell your good trailing arm to recoup?
http://burleysmotorsports.com/index.php ... ducts_id=7" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; even cheaper for factory copies
I thought syncroservices did as well?

thanks for the links.
i had seen the burley ones but they all seem to be modified standard arms which i could do myself. i would rather have original ones though as it is a 16.
the 16" arms dont have a seam on the rear side. ( where the shock absorber bracket is ).
if i do it myself i have more control over finish etc.

i have just emailed syncro services to see if the 780 euro price is for a pair or for one? from the photo, they look like they are galvanised which would be nice. it says they are "casted" in 6mm? that would be interesting although i think i would prefer the pressed steel versions.

it may be worth having a chat with dai, he was having a good eyeball over patrick's trailing arms at brickwerks and was confident about making them from a pair of 14inch ones. (2no 14inch arms would be needed per arm).
as your a mettle worker i am sure that you would be able to do it.

dose beg the question as to why this has happened, how far from the sea (salt) are you?
