Cheers. ur quite right about the filler plastic surround and I did cut my rep[air piece at the insde edge of the area so that it would not be a problem. Just after getting that far I needed to jack up the front to put the wheel back on and her presto, just like the other side did I could hear the metal above the jacking point styart to creak with the strain of the weight on the jack.....so that's got to be my next job. In the meantime have been stripping my s/h decent door and scouring ebay for which cheap auto-darkening helmet to get- seems like a blessing compared to my 'completely dark' lense in old style traditional welding face mask. More to come soon I hope and thanks for the encouragement.

On another note but strangely related (he was doing some bodywork) was very sorry to hear about Rich Newton passing. Tim

I use a non darkening inspection shield for 90% of migging, helmets get in the way too much.

Have no acquired a good second hand joddler/hole puncj and am inclined to try and make a smooth stright cut above the swauge line and joddle the edge of the repair panel or even put in a reonforcement strip underneath the but joint. Hoping weather will allow.!

Also just got a 'Ding King' dent removal kit to try and take out a few dings in my body work- wish there was a 'man' kit not just one for cars.
