Cheers. ur quite right about the filler plastic surround and I did cut my rep[air piece at the insde edge of the area so that it would not be a problem. Just after getting that far I needed to jack up the front to put the wheel back on and her presto, just like the other side did I could hear the metal above the jacking point styart to creak with the strain of the weight on the jack.....so that's got to be my next job. In the meantime have been stripping my s/h decent door and scouring ebay for which cheap auto-darkening helmet to get- seems like a blessing compared to my 'completely dark' lense in old style traditional welding face mask. More to come soon I hope and thanks for the encouragement.
