We are all thinking along similar lines. A crew cab either LT 4x4 or T3 would be best. My only concern with making my own shell would be getting some curves in to avoid it looking too childish. The material itself is pretty straight forward in flat section I should imagine . Also I heard there are limits on the size of vehicle you can register in this country?

That grey one is lovely, haven't read the build thread, but it must have a dry sump. Looking at that shot of the rear.
So jes, you already looking at other vans

Now that I am virtually a Fin it would be rude to not make the most. Plus a double garage on way and very patient wife who has put up 30+ 'this is the one' VW's.

On the build thread there are pics of the finished bare Doka and the rear window is most def in and unmolested. I can't see a door on the living unit(?) what am I missing?

put a hightop on it
only joking, started looking for a caravelle/kombi. Looking in northern/eastern europe. Meant to be a profit making exercise, but will turn into a off road tool. Dont want to smash up the multivan too much.
Would like a panel van though, what are you doing with yours?

Just had a nosy at that build thread. I like it although I think I would be adding a proper door somewhere. It appears that he climbs through the back window of the doka to get in. Imagine doing that when your intoxicated. Most of us struggle to get through the big opening we all have in side of our vans.
Cheers
Rob.

Interesting to note the weight of the DoKa on its own and then with the demount fitted. VW quote 1595 kgs for a Syncro DoKa although not a 16". Is there a thread on the restoration of the DoKa itself?
