That isn't an original fitment - it's someone's way of avoiding voltage drop.
Why you would need 40A for a solenoid is beyond me.

Someones bodge way of reducing voltage drop and not original wiring.....there is certainly compelling evidence to say this works...but not the way it's been done with yours, sorry ...(exposed to the ellements and 2 inches away from a red hot exhaust manifold header) I dread to think how the wiring and crimp connectors look under that tape , and so close to that 'metal' bracket?

went out to the van on sunday and had a look at the ignition switch was not in completeley so pushed it in and seems to have done the trick starts first time now surley it coudnt have been that simple just been out 5 min ago and she started first time so ill see how it goes for now thanks for all your advice

hi all van was starting fine this past week till last night iam now thinking the ignition switch is the problem as when it didnt start to day was jigerling the key about in barrel and it would catch just as i was about to turn it off tryed this several times with same result thoughtn it was a damp problem but now think its the switch
