it costs £75 inc vat for 100kg, thats the min order, and then it is 60p or so per kg after that. i only wanted to have the engine protection bars done as i had to cut and weld them when i changed the engine. and there was no way that i could protect the welds inside the box section with paint, the lot you see in the photo, roof rack, engine pro, 2no prop bars, uj protector, front bash plate, vindic roll cage came in at 105kg. so about £80, they are based in deepest darkest kent, but they pick up and drop off for £40+vat, which is cheaper than me driving there and back twice (about an hour and a half each way.

Thats not bad really, do you just give them a dirty greasy one and they do all the cleaning then?

Seems to be good value.
I presume old metal needs to be completely derusted first? Or does it not matter with galvanising?
Is that inc in price?
Do you now need to paint/protect it, to stop it getting damaged?

mine went as it came off the van, it is put through what they call a "burn off" to strip any paint oil grase dirt etc. then acid cleaned, hot diped galvanized (very hot liquid metal) and the diped in water to cool it, comes back very shiney but will dull down to a light grey in a couple of weeks.
i can be painted after if you want, the company also do power coating so you can have it galved and then coated they will prep the galanising if they do this as the finnish out of the tank is a little rough, as for rust some of the stuf had some surface rust but was not rotten, just rember that the threads will need re taping when you get it back as they will be full of galv, i had to buy a m14 from memory when i had my trailing arms done which cost me about a tenner a couple of years ago.

Yeah - I've been toying with getting all my bits galvy'd. My van bits that is. Anywhere else might be painful. The body on mine is galvy'd but not the bash plate, protection bars, etc etc.

oooo and they picked up on tuesday and droped off on the thursday, but if you drop it off you can collect it 24h later, and there open weekends,

rust prevenshion, as i said 100kg min order, so why not, the plan was always to have the roof rack galved may as well get my moneys worth?

Most plating works charge around £60 minimum order anyway; the idea of swingarms that will outlast the van is quite appealing isn't it?

If it's good enough for Ifor Williams trailers it should be good enough for anyone. More durable than any paint or plastic coating, that's why they use it.

sure i remember reading in a mag a while ago, some chap that worked in the puch factory bought one of the last shells and put it through the factory tank before it hit the production line.....be nice wouldn't it!
