The buzzer has come on a few times after 2000rpm but only after a 65mph+ run. Then it's fine until I reach that 65mph and slow down. If that makes sense. Should the oil light go of like the water light does when ignition is turned on?

I might be jumping the gun Ian as I've not checked the tappet settings yet :roll: completely forgot after I'd changed oil filter and plugs

Nope, only when pressure exceeds prescribed level.

Ok well it stays on until engine has started. Will have a go at the tappets tomorrow and see if that solves it. If not I'm looking at a possible faulty oil pump or short circuit on the oil pressure switch or bottom end rebuild?

Our light goes out as the engine turns over perhaps twice and is out before it starts ... sadly it sounds like the pump or bottom end options, especially if the tappets are draining down as well. Rattly tappets are a symptom of rather than a cause of low oil pressure.

Thanks Ian for your replys :ok When I said the oil light stays on I got it wrong it flashes on and of until I start the engine
