Does seem a little over the top I must admit. If I was going to go as far as pulling the windscreen out and patch a piece in, I might as well renew the entire panel. Come to think of it I might as well replace the rear arches etc etc.

Anyway today I removed the front grill, also the fly/leaf screen from the front of the vent box and gave the bottom end of the crease a tug with the head of a lump hammer hooked underneath the lip. Its double skinned as I mentioned before but hey presto it shifted the panel foward by at least an inch and almost realigned the nose! (see pic on previous page for comparison).

Stepfather (Mike) took a look, rubbed his beard and in that knowledgable way of his remarked that it needed a couple of strategic holes drilled and a gentle tug with a home-fashioned hook to pull the low spots forward - then metal filler and prime.

I'm pretty good at almost undetectable filling so I should soon have this licked into shape.

thats better, sod all that new panel, total rebuild, off the road for 3 months stuff!!!! remove the paint, fill it. jobs a good un!

Have you managed the dent yet. If not I have a tool that glues on and pulls dents out (If not to solid). If you can get over to ESSEX you are welcome to try it
