Dude i got a mk3 polo gt steering wheel for £7 (from the bay) and an adapter sleeve for about £10 and it looks wicked, its from the right period ,got the little wheel look and retains the VW badge on it Happy Days

Irrc a member said their van caught fire due to fitting aftermarket/alternative steering wheels and bosses. I think it was pepperami

How about a Jetta wheel? This one fit great with a little mod.

hooray i have a steering wheel porsche 944 or 924 ( 4 spoke with the oblong center horn) 1980'S.... but does it fit .?


the indicator cancel is on the otherside ,but not worried about that really ,just want to be able to use it ...

Yep, I did a post on here about it, pulled a sleeve of a 90's golf , it fits straight over your smaller t25 one, vw still stock it about £10, I forget who nbut someone on here got one and no problems within the last month i think

Thanks mike ....
I can see what's needed now ... Looks like a quick run to the scrap yard first. If not show the photo to the local vw commerical dealer and hope they can find it ...if not they shouldn't be sporting the VW badge

Feel abit happier now that i haven't wasted my money on a more comfortable steering wheel

If your doing the scrappy route then................................
You wiull need a small 2 leg puller and a pair of vice grips as well, remove wheel, I think remove switch gear (3x slot head) then whilst holding the spring you will find arounnd this adapter down out the way, clamp the grips just under the ridge at the bottom of the splines then fit puller, you might be able to smack it off but as I had the puller I used that,
when fitting to your van dont hammer it on just tap it and then wind on with the coloumb nut.

Cheers mike ....i think i have a 2 leg puller i made in college ..lol ...and got other tools ..I'll give it a go first unless it's cheap enough from VW ..

Hmm.. weird - the indicator cancel on my Porsche wheel was on the same side as the one on my OEM T25 wheel

My porsche cancel on the left and oem wheel is on the right ..unless i'm blind and got the wrong porsche wheel ...

Got one being posted from a VW breakers on ebay ...Maybe a quid or 2 more ,but time wise saves me alot more ...
