Phew, this post has saved me a lot of trouble. I casually read it thinking I might be able to help as I have an Autosleeper and then realised that my current project has a serious flaw in the plan (see
https://club8090.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.p ... %20project.
It dawned on me that if you guys were having trouble removing the sliding part of the bunk bed (1'10" X 4'), then how on earth was I going to get the large part of the bunk bed back in (4' X 4')!? I had intended carpeting the side boxes in situ and then carpeting the large part of the bunk bed and pop it over the top. That plan was obviously a no-goer now (as has been the case at many stages during this project

). So having played around a bit it seems like the plan is now to carpet the 4' X 4' part of the bunk bed, slide it through the tailgait up over the C-strut, put the side boxes back and then recarpet them. Having the large part of the bunk bed in place is going to make it difficult to carpet the sideboxes but at least it'll be in place. We'll leave the bunk bed section unsecured so we can move it about as we carpet and secure it once we've finished.
It would have been a nightmare to have carpeted the sideboxes only to realise we couldn't get the bunk bed in place. So thanks James and co! 8090 to the rescue once again!
