Once upon a time ......
Eurotunnel had a nasty fire (caused by a lorry who's trailer brakes had been stuck on) and as a result the tunnel was closed for many months. Eurotunnel had to find (and ban) the source of the fire, however because if they banned all the nice clean lorries they would go out of business so they made a scapegoat of the smallest minority they could find ..... vehicles running on lpg. Therefore when you try to book on Eurotunnel the second step is to enter your vehicle registration and it boots you out if you're (correctly) registered as dual-fuel.

Interestingly doesn't apply to vehicles with a similar "bomb" like tank slung under it to power the hob and fridge?!?! Work that one out?

Yep tis true, not quite sure how eurotunnel square that circle. Apparantly its ok cos the tank is at max 80% full.
Going out to france, I got stopped so that the UK side (pulled into a seperate area like the old customs sheds), could check that the tank was indeed turned off. The check consisted of me getting down on all fours, checking the stop valve that I already knew was off anyway and telling the guy, yes, its off!. He didnt want to check it himself but had me go through the motions before he would add his initials to my boarding hanger.
Coming back, the french guy at the cabin merely asked if the gas tank was off, I said Oui, he shrugged and waived me on. C'est tout!
Vive la difference!
