Im hoping the AAz engine is pretty sturdy in ours, the same bloke installed it and has been servicing it for the past three years. Starts instantly , runs well, good mpg, so all fine so far. Obviously the non engine bits need some thinking about too.

You will find an engine will rarely let you down. Its things like dry CV joints (I take it they are well greased with clips tightly sealed on the inner end on the drive shaft) Wheel barings (I carry a rear pressed in a hub and a spare front one) Snapped accelerator cable (i keep one of those to) clutch slave cylinder etc that will get you. I spend about £100 a month on my van replacing worn parts for new ones to cut the chance of failure down to a minimum. Its usually people who think because a mechanic has changed the oil and filter its reliable, and have taken no spares with them or tools or dont know the basics of vans that you see at the side of the road. I helped some fella the other month with a flat who was in a t25, he didnt even have a jack![]()
