Fair enough Aidan silly question really, just ordered both 5 piece sets for £32.40 delivered on fleabay will give them a go when they arrive thanks :D

had to do this job when housings were not available for the 2.1 so had to be real careful not to damage thermo housing.difficult when bolts and sleeve are truly rusted together.if you drill heads off you will be lucky housing comes off and you can get stilsons on bolts. good luck with irwins but get them good and right first time or they will chew head up as they slip.lots of patience and plus gas. good luck

How much white phosphatey oxide of metal was down the bolts in the housing :shock:

Plenty! Where the thermostat sits was worse, covered in powder!

A new thermostat housing will be getting ordered from Brickwerks :D
